It would not surprise me if President Bush became a Roman Catholic. It really wouldn't. Catholic News Service is reports that Bush's visit with Pope Benedict later this week will break with protocol. There will be a much warmer meeting with the president than is usually extended to heads of state. This is said to be an outgrowth of the warm welcome shown to His Holiness when he visited the states in April.
This will be the third time the two have gotten together, the sixth time President Bush has met with a pope. Not that any of this directly adds up to religious conversion, but I just have a feeling. You know what I mean. I'm just sayin'...
