Of the South Carolina law that authorized the production of a Christian themed license plate, an absolutely absurd statement was issued by a Dr. T. J. Gunn, the A.C.L.U.'s Program on Freedom of Religion and Belief director. Gunn said, “The whole issue here is that people are trying to get the state to endorse their religion, and that’s wrong.
It’s almost as if there’s insufficient support, and they have to go to the state to get it.” Insufficient support of Christianity? Without state support this little upstart of a religion will never get off the ground? Huh?
I've got to google that man's curriculum vitae. Wouldn't want to send my son to a school he attended. That isn't even faulty reasoning. It is just absurdity.
