Unusual but Pretty

I've not seen a flower like this before.

Perhaps the photo doesn't show it as such, but it is quite striking.

Oh, those semi-circles on the stem? They are just raindrops, not a part of the plant.

Not sure, but the flower form looks like freesia to me. Anybody out there have any other ideas?
