Our Newest Family Addition

Although she can be a bit bashful before the camera, I thought I'd share some pictures of our newest family member - Oreo Anthusa. Oreo because of the black and white coloring. Anthusa because we got her on St. Anthusa's feast day. Since St. Anthusa was a hermitess for a portion of her life, the name is somewhat fitting because Oreo is the only bunny in the hutch.

Oreo was given to us by our next door neighbor who raises lop eared rabbits. Evidently, this is a difficult time to sell rabbits; therefore, she had a surplus of sorts.
Who knew the bunny market is subject to fluctuations?!?

This last picture also shows the family members who usually show a particularly keen interest in Oreo. I believe that if they could have suggested a name for her it might have been "Food" or, perhaps, "Dinner."

Joyous in the Lord

The meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
the valleys deck themselves with grain,
they shout and sing together for joy. (Psalms 65:13)

Unusual but Pretty

I've not seen a flower like this before.

Perhaps the photo doesn't show it as such, but it is quite striking.

Oh, those semi-circles on the stem? They are just raindrops, not a part of the plant.

If you know the name of this flower, please note it in the comment section. I'd appreciate it - thanks!

Look Who I Found in My Bed

After watering a flower bed, I found this guy hanging out on the leaf of a marigold plant.

Dangerous looking fellow, isn't he?

So ugly that he is almost cute. Well, in an arachniddy robotic bug sort of way.

Okay, okay. Only a momma bug could love a face like that, but I still think he is interesting.
