Miracles Formally Accepted, Causes Advance

Just ten days before the 150th wedding anniversary of Louis Martin and Marie-Zélie Guerin Martin, St. Therese's parents, a miracle was formally attributed to them.

At today's audience in which the Pope accepted the Martin's miracle, four other causes for sainthood received the Holy Father's recognition of miraculous occurrences. Bl. Father Damian de Veuster' cause was one of those advanced.

If you don't know much about Fr. Damien, please take a moment to find out about him. A spiritual dynamo, Fr. Damien was the embodiment of Christ to the lepers of Molokai. There is a wonderful film about him entitled, "The Father Damien Story - An Uncommon Kindness." Amazon sells it, but I think you can save some cash by renting it via Netflix.
