Rest and Hope

Loving God
In this hour in which one might despair
For reason tells us that we are in dark times
We turn to You to ask that Your will be done

Without You
We are mindless creatures of sopping waste
Designing elitist commonality
Numbed by hollow aching cries of emptiness

By Your Light
A righteous path of mercy is well lit
Leading us to the freedom of peace and joy
Realized in the glory of Your saving Love

So Father
Before this abyss we stand, hearts in hand
Asking Your forgiveness, renouncing our ways
We beg deliverance from what we deserve

We ask You
Blind us to that which we had blindly sought
Render man's vile death-filled promises null
For only in Your Truth we find rest and hope
